Important notice!

I won't be able to take orders for the 3rd of January 2010. I've personal things to deal with on that date :( so please take notice that I won't be able to take your orders on that day.

Since this coincides with my 24-hour notification promotion, the promotion is hereby added by one day to cover this missed out day. Hence the promotion will go on up to the 8th of January. I apologise for any inconveniences :(

24 hours

Good news, I believe :D

Okay, I'm going to announce it.. Since I'm in the holiday mood, being in the holidays and all.

All of you may know that a 3-day notification is needed to place orders. So starting tomorrow up to early January, specifically the first week of January, I'm cutting the 3-day order shorter :D Instead of the 72-hour notice that I need, all I require is a 24hour notice!

Say you need an order lasagna for a Thursday morning/afternoon, then just make your order a day before which is.. Wednesday morning! Sounds alright, kan? There are exceptions pulang, kalau kamu contact aku time malam macam time pukul 8, midnight to subuh2, and order atu utk paginya.. I can't accept that. Just remember, 24 hours.

Other conditions still apply though and contact me via sms or e-mail. So once the first week of January 2010 ends, the 3 day notification comes back ;) The 24-hour notification is valid from 23/12/2009 until 07/01/2010.

All items on the menu are included for this:

Beef Lasagna - $3 & $25
Baked Macaroni and Cheese - $3 & $25
Vegetable Lasagna - $20
Macaroni and Meatballs - $25

Macaroni and meatballs

Hi everyone!

Now here's a totally proper update on this very much neglected blog. I do check it from time to time, just neglected in terms of updates (booo..!)

One of the hints that I gave yesterday was..

meatballs

I've made homemade meatballs :D major yay! It's no fun eating those frozen meatballs from the frozen food section and once they're cooked you don't taste the meat. Instead, there's a flour-ish taste to it. Or perhaps it's just me?

To combat my dissatisfaction with frozen meatballs, I made my own. This was the meal that I was planning to add on into the food menu for the longest amount of time and yet never got around to making it. To the extent that my aunty actually made meatballs for lunch one fine day even though I had planned to make them weeks earlier haha yes, it took me this long.

Here's a portion of the macaroni and meatballs.

Macaroni noodles are mixed into a tasty tomato-based sauce that is baked with a white sauce topping with cheese on top. Along with the macaroni, home-made meatballs are also found in the sauce. Each order comes in an aluminium baking dish which allows re-heating later on.

price+size:

$25.00 --> Big : 12" by 9"

So what do you think? The food menu post should be updated soon with this meal added in ;)

Till here :D

p.s: anyone notice the change in layout? That should have been in my 'good news' as well :P and on another note, I *believe* my white sauce is a signature part of my dishes.. iakah?

An update

Hello all :D it's been approximately two weeks since I've last updated and that was the FaiKuat video. So here I bring good news and bad news.

Bad news is I lost my phone along with its line for a few days so I didn't get to meet some demands or contact those who made orders. On the personal side of bad news, all of my contact numbers were there so that was like losing a thumb. However, my phone's back now. Yay! Good thing is, it saved me a trip and a few dollars to get a sim card and even more money to buy out a new phone in order not to lose any credibility.

I have a twitter account now. So I've been updating there. No followers as of now haha Sadly, it's the truth that my blog isn't so popular. But do follow me :D

I've some sauce cooking tonight, it's a trial for a new menu that I plan on adding to the food menu. Will DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY update tomorrow! Not a lasagna though. I should keep in mind that I should make different lasagnas. Speaking of which, I haven't made a chicken lasagna in a long time..

Another thing I have on my mind is making a twist to the macaroni and cheese available here. It won't substitute the mac & cheese here but it'll be added on if it works out.

Three hints for the two additions: meatballs. onions . beef slices.

Visual reminders

Beef lasagna :D obviously not the one priced at $25, this would be a smaller portion of it ;) has more layers in the $25 one, if I'm not mistaken. I can't seem to count the layers in this photo haha sorry about that. anyone care to count? :D

Macaroni and cheese :D I like the contrast in its texture. You get crispy on top (thanks to the breadcrumbs) and soft on the bottom (thanks to the cheese!).

Now, this is what the $3 lasagna would look like. Both the beef and veggie :D Not the same 'waves' up there though.

I'm no good at taking photos. The proof would be up there. But it'll have to do hee. Have a good Sunday everyone :D

3 weeks already?!

Hello all :D

wow. I haven't updated the blog for almost a month, neglected more like it. Uni's been tiring, going home late, thinking about my pending assignments, the weather.. have any of you noticed the weather? PANAS! I feel that my skin giving up on me. haha nvm that. Onto lasagna matters :D

Sadly, the month of Syawal has ended so that ends the potato salad promotion. I'm still taking orders for the foodstuff though my exams are coming up (eep!) and just to let you all know, I will not be taking orders during my exams. Sighs. On a brighter note, I'm looking forward to what the minds at FaiKuat have in store for the video that they intend to make for me :D (though it may take a while). This is all for now, I should update soon I believe.

'till here. enjoy your weekend!

Selamat Hari Raya!

Happy Raya everyone :D I do hope all of your fasting and ibadah done in the month of Ramadhan were accepted and that your Aidilfitri is currently enjoyable now. Please do remember to appreciate those who are with you now and do not forget to sedekah Al-Fatihah to those who have already left..

I'm taking time from a part of my 1st Syawal to inform all of you that I am taking food orders, say you want to order, for this Raya season. To commemorate this festive month, each order will come with A COMPLIMENTARY POTATO SALAD :D YAYY!

Contact me the same way via e-mail ;) Though I think there will soon be an easier way for you to contact me about orders. I'll keep you posted.

Selamat Hari Raya once again :D

Another type of lasagna

Not exactly how the ingredients look like.. but that's what I substituted beef for in the lasagna I tried out last night for sungkai :D and it turned out good!

I must admit that I'm not an avid veggie eater (since IMHO veggies on their own taste kinda bland plus overcooked veggies don't look very appetizing to me) yet I actually enjoyed eating the veggie lasagna! The sudden change in stomach (it's usually 'change of heart' right? but since this involves the stomach, I say it should be a "sudden change in stomach instead) came from the weekly yoga sessions that I attend and much to my embarrassment, my tummy can't take it when leg raises are done :( I don't exactly know how this resulted in wanting veggies but then it's nice to have an alternative to beef.

Hence, I'm adding this to the menu :D

Vegetable lasagna

Sliced mushrooms, carrots and spinach are simmered in a rich tomato based sauce and layered with white sauce along with lasagna noodles. It is then finally topped with a layer of cheese. Lasagna noodles are always used and no other substitute pasta (such as macaroni) is used. Each order comes in an aluminium baking dish which allows re-heating later on.

price+size:

$20.00 --> Big : 12" by 9"

As of now the veggies will be those three, however, I will eventually give alternatives to the carrots and spinach. Most likely eggplant and broccoli. Oh, and I'm not sure about taking orders for the smaller containers, that has to be taken into consideration.

It's almost time for sungkai. Happy sungkai-ing to all those who are able to fast :)

as usual,

Vegetables

Do you like to eat vegetables?

Carrots, mushrooms, the leafy kind?

How about a veggie lasagna instead of beef?

New potential additions to the menu

This is gonna be a short post (most likely repetitive at the end. ehehehe.) I was thinking of adding new food items to the already existing menu. More on the line of baked stuff as well obviously :D However, it'll have to go through some trials to see if I can and if I should. Maybe Shepherd's pie? Chicken pie? Hm.. In the mean time, there's always:

Beef Lasagna

Photobucket

In this dish, lasagna noodles are layered with a rich white sauce along with a rich meaty tomato-based sauce and finally topped with a layer of cheese. Lasagna noodles are always used and no other substitute pasta (such as macaroni) is used. Each order comes in an aluminium baking dish which allows re-heating later on.

price+size:
B$3.00 --> Small : 5.5" by 4.5"

$25.00 --> Big : 12" by 9"

Baked macaroni and Cheese

Re-heating

Hello everyone :)

We're a week into Ramadhan and I hope all has been well for all of you. In relation to today's title, well.. I'd like to talk about that. Since it's Ramadhan and all where eating, drinking and whatever wordly temptations we have are strictly prohibited during the period after sahur and before sungkai, orders for lasagnas cannot be consumed right away.

Here's the thing, I'm used to passing the orders for lunch and they get eaten while they are still warm. Can't do that for this month. So I'll definitely need some cooperation from the customers if they would like warm food ;) or request for your orders to be frozen so you may bake them closer to sahur or closer to sungkai.

Photobucket

It bugs me that people have to re-heat the food that they get, I'm not completely sure why. But maybeeeee.... it has something to do with this incident I heard from a close friend who orders from me. I'm not sure how valid or how much truth there is to this since ianya heard it from another customer. That pretty much makes it 3rd hand info (I think).

So, here it is. I sell my 5.5" by 4.5" lasagnas in aluminium pans which allows re-heating. I don't specifically mention how they should be re-heated but from the story I heard, the lasagna was re-heated in a pan of boiling water left to float (shouldn't it sink? haha inda ku tau eyh. I never tried.) with its lid on (baik jua with the lid on) but unfortunately water managed to seep in and it resulted in a warm yet soggy, soggy lasagna. It never actually crossed my mind to do that.. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone though..

Photobucket

Today's moral:
Lasagnas are best consumed un-soggy. As of above (directly above. hehe.)

Happy Fasting

To all muslims out there, Happy Fasting :D I like the month of Ramadhan. It feels peaceful, we tend to worry less. And maybe it's also because of the fact that when my tummy rumbles in class (or in the general public), people understand and don't laugh. hehe. yeah, that's definitely one reason for me.

The FSC food sale is already done. Well, as of Thursday the 20th to be specific. I believe my sales were okay, with the exception of the last day where I had one sad sad lasagna left and a slight bump along the way :)

On a personal note, it was a relatively interesting day for me. Obviously eventful, sorta like one of those things in those fictional stories where one bad thing after another occurs. Nonetheless, everything seems alright now. ANDDD! I am able to take orders for your sungkai needs hee communication is important, so e-mail me if you have any inquiries. I will definitely reply.

Besides all that, Selamat Berpuasa to those who are fit and able to fast :)

FBEPS Student Council (FSC) Food Sale

There's a 3-day food sale going at FBEPS exactly at the entrance to the faculty (I believe it's the entrance though people could enter via the 'twin towers' as well. You know, the path that links FASS to FBEPS. At least I think that is what it is called). So I took and I still am taking the opportunity to sell a small number of my lasagnas there :D I might as well take the chance to sell at least the lasagnas since the food sale is opened to all FBEPS students. I take my minor in FBEPS, so technically..I guess I'm considered a FBEPS student(?).

Usual customers (which reminds me, I don't think they know I have this blog. hmm.) may notice the increase in the price of my lasagnas ($1 increase to be specific). This is only momentary. For a good reason, a very good reason, which is:

"to collect funds for FSC, as a financial aid to organize future events for the faculty. Other than that, it could bring about the togetherness within the faculty."

A fraction of my sales goes to the faculty and that would explain the increase in its price. For the remaining two days, which is tomorrow and Thursday, its price will still be $4. I hope to get new customers :D though I may not be able to jumpa any :( I have classes to go to. ah well :( there will always be next time

'till here <3

I'm typing!

As much as I'd like to say that I'm new to this blogging thing, I'm not (and I'm quite boring, in all honesty I talk boring which equals blogging boring). I must say though, I'm quite new to this. As in attempting to sell foodstuff online. There are a lot of blogs selling clothes, accessories, make-up.. you name it! Ada bejual tu! Not forgetting to mention food. Like what I'm doing here. I know there are many heavyweights out there with Chefs & amazing people who can cook/bake that own blogs about what they cook and the sort, I can't help but.. be worried*.

Nonetheless, here I am :D

*many words sped through my mind, like "insecure", "tiny", "insignificant", "perasan", "silly".. pokoknya banyak lah words atu
